5 Ideas for Holiday Season Crafts Workshops!

Can you believe the holiday season is just around the corner? 🍂🎄

It’s the perfect time to get those creative juices flowing and start planning some amazing workshops that people will love! Whether you're just starting out or have a few workshops under your belt, the holiday season is a goldmine of opportunities to share your craft and spread some festive cheer.

To help you get started, I’ve put together 5 workshop ideas that are perfect for this time of year. These aren’t just your run-of-the-mill crafts—they’re projects that people will be thrilled to create and even more excited to gift. And the best part? They’re all easily adaptable to any skill level, so no matter who your attendees are, they’ll leave your workshop with something they’re proud of.

1. Hand-Painted Holiday Ornaments

Everyone loves adding a personal touch to their holiday décor, and hand-painted ornaments are a timeless favorite. You can set up a workshop where participants choose from a variety of designs—think snowflakes, festive quotes, or even custom names. This is a great way to tap into the holiday spirit while giving attendees something they can cherish for years to come.

I personally haven’t hosted a workshop like this, but it’s on my list for this year!

2. Festive Wreath Making

Wreaths aren’t just for doors! They’re a versatile decoration that can be used anywhere in the home. In this workshop, you could guide your attendees through the process of creating a beautiful, custom wreath. From traditional pine and holly to modern designs with dried flowers and berries, there’s something for everyone.

This was my best selling workshop last year!! I think I’ve helped almost 200 people make wreaths… All the details to host your own wreath making workshop will be added the Crafts Workshops Academy very soon.

3. DIY Holiday Candles

There’s nothing quite like the warm glow and scent of a candle to set the holiday mood. A candle-making workshop is a sensory delight and a fantastic gift idea. You could offer a range of festive scents like cinnamon, pine, or vanilla, and let participants personalize their candles with colors and decorations.

You can get fancy festive and offer different types of decorations for the candles, or you can keep it simple (just like I did last year) and offer holiday classic scents people can choose from. No matter what, candles = Christmas. I don’t make the rules.

4. Custom Gift Wrapping Workshop

This workshop is all about making the outside of the gift as special as the inside. Show your attendees how to create stunning, Instagram-worthy gift wrap using stamps, ribbons, and handmade tags. This is a great way to add a personal touch to their holiday gifts and make them stand out under the tree.

I don’t know if this is more of a dream of mine, or actually totally possible… I’ve never hosted a workshop like this, but I would LOVE to! Probably not on the cards for me this year, but if you do it, please send me photos!!

If you need 42 different ways of wrapping, check this out.

5. Holiday-Themed Sugar Cookie Decorating

Who doesn’t love cookies? This workshop is perfect for bakers and non-bakers alike. Set up a station with pre-baked cookies and all the decorating supplies they could need—royal icing, sprinkles, edible glitter, and more. Not only is this a fun, hands-on activity, but everyone leaves with a delicious treat to share (or keep for themselves)!

* disclaimer: I honestly think this workshop would be hard to pull-off if you’re not a baker! *

This is another one that I’ve dreamed about… and may or may not do it this year by hiring someone to help me.

Now, imagine these projects as part of your own workshops—sounds pretty magical, right? ✨ Whether you’re looking to fill up your calendar or simply add a few extra events to the holiday lineup, these ideas can help you create memorable experiences that your attendees will rave about.
